Marilynn Talal, b. 1938, is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and earned an MA from Columbia University’s Graduate Faculties. Her Ph.D. is in Creative Writing (poetry) awarded with highest honors by the University of Houston in 1993. She has won fellowship awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Stella Earhart Memorial Award (University of Houston). Her poems have been published in the Atlanta Review, Bitterroot, California Quarterly, The New Republic, Oklahoma Review, The Paris Review, Poetry, Rattle Southern Poetry Review, Straylight, Western Humanities Review, as well as other journals and anthologies.
