Alison Stone
Alison Stone, b. 1964, is a poet, painter, Master yoga instructor and licensed psychotherapist with practices in NYC and Nyack. Her first collection, They Sing at Midnight, won the 2003 Many Mountains Moving Poetry Award. Stone is the recipient of Poetry’s Frederick Bock Prize and New York Quarterly’s Madeline Sadin Award. Her collection, Dangerous Enough, appeared from Presa Press in 2014. Her poems have appeared in over fifty journals and anthologies, including Barrow Street, The Illinois Review, The Paris Review, Ploughshares, Poet Lore and Poetry. The Stone Tarot deck (www.StoneTarot.com) reproduces Stone’s 78 paintings of the tarot images. These paintings reflect integration and synthesis of art and mysticism. Currently, Stone and poet Kathi Aguero are editing an anthology on the Persephone/Demeter myth. She lives with her family in Nyack, NY.
